Tool Limitation
- The web browser wizard cannot interrupt the execution of any step running on the Business Communications Manager (BCM). Clicking on the web browser's Stop button will not stop the process on the server.
- If the updated component process times out in the browser, or the browser's Stop button is pressed, the process continues on the BCM server. If this occurs:
- Using VNC, monitor the processes running on the BCM. The process runs under the name "NNVSpawn". Wait until this process ends.
- Look at the logs for NNVSpawn and the Patch log found in the logs sub-folder in Voice Platform. If the step has run to a normal completion, proceed with the next sub-step (click on "Reboot Now"). If the sub-step terminated unexpectedly, click on "Update Components Now".
- Proceed with th next steps in the process.
- The output text in the monitor frame appears bursty due to a 4K buffe limitation in Apache. As a result, the text in the frame may lag behind the actual activity on the Business Communications Manager (BCM).
- There is a "Skip" button on most frames where you can skip a step. These should be used with caution. They are intended to be used when the patch process has been interupted and you wish to return the wizard to a particular step.
