IMPORTANT:
If the BCM Monitor client has previously been installed on your personal computer or the personal computers of your BCM50 users to work with BCM200, BCM400 or BCM1000 systems, then you will need to uninstall the client(s) and reinstall the equivalent client supplied with BCM50.

The BCM Monitor provided with BCM50 will monitor both BCM50 and BCM200, BCM400 and BCM1000 systems.

To remove the earlier version of the client, use the "Add/Remove Programs" feature on the user's computer. For more information, please refer to the client documentation.

See Important Notes Below

BCM Monitor is a stand-alone application that allows the system administrator to view system and IP telephony information about their BCM200, BCM400, BCM1000, and BCM50 systems.

BCM Monitor is included in the installation of the BCM50 Element Manager

Download of the BCM Monitor application is required only if an administrative user requires this particular management tool and does not have or does not require BCM50 Element Manager

The focus of the BCM Monitor real time monitoring capabilities is:

  • Overall system status
  • IP telephony functions of the BCM50 system including IP device activity and VoIP session information
  • Utilization of resources such as CPU
  • Operation of telephony applications (e.g., voice mail, Call Center, IVR etc.)
  • Monitoring of lines
  • Monitoring of PRI and IP trunks

BCM Monitor can be used from a remote PC that has IP connectivity to the monitored BCM50 system. Multiple instances of the BCM Monitor application can be used on a single PC to monitor several remote BCM50,. BCM100, BCM200 and BCM1000 systems at the same time.

BCM Monitor is fully supported starting with the BCM release 3.0 and inclusive of BCM50 Release 1.  The application can be also used with BCM releases 2.5 and 2.5 FP1, but these releases provide only limited support for certain diagnostics queries.

BCM Monitor has insignificant requirements with regard to the hard disk space and memory required on the client PC. Typically, any PC running one of the supported operating systems has adequate resources to run BCM Monitor. This version of BCM Monitor is supported on the following operating systems:

  • Windows 98
  • Windows 2000
  • Windows XP

When BCM Monitor is used on Windows 98, logon capabilities are reduced due to operating system limitations.
