Mailbox capability interactions

The list below shows examples of CallPilot feature dependencies that you should consider when creating mailbox classes and assigning users to mailbox classes.

Addressing rights

To send messages to broadcast addresses, Broadcast capability is required. To send messages to shared distribution lists, SDL addressing capability is required.

Desktop messaging

Desktop and My CallPilot capability must be enabled. To send and receive fax messages with desktop messaging, fax capability must also be enabled.

You can also restrict audio playback and recording to either the telephone or computer for a mailbox class to reduce system resource use. When placing restrictions on a playback device, consider how users will access their messages. For example, users who do not have a microphone cannot record messages using the computer.

My CallPilot

The following My CallPilot options are available to all mailbox owners.

In CallPilot Manager, you can provide additional features to mailbox owners, based on their needs. As you create or modify mailbox classes in CallPilot Manager to control access rights, consider how members of each mailbox class will use My CallPilot. In a mailbox class, you can control:
