CallPilot supports both encryption and authentication.
IMAP connections must be authenticated. Authentication for LDAP connections is optional. Authentication can be configured in one of the following modes on CallPilot:
mixed authentication mode (LDAP only)
unauthenticated mode (LDAP only)
Two authentication methods are available. Challenge-Response authentication is only available for the IMAP server.
CallPilot Player and groupware clients support both the Challenge-Response and Plain Password forms of authentication, but always use Challenge-Response if it is enabled as it is more secure. For details about available security options for supported e-mail clients, see E-mail client support.
CallPilot supports Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption for communication with CallPilot server. You can enable and disable SSL encryption independently for IMAP and LDAP servers.
