The decision about which dialing plan is used for each site in your messaging network is already determined when you begin to implement a networking solution. Therefore, during implementation, you simply reflect the existing plan in your network database.
CallPilot works with the following dialing plans:
hybrid dialing plan (a combination of ESN and CDP)
Regardless of which dialing plan is used, Nortel Networks strongly recommends that you use a standardized dialing plan for your network. If you are installing a new system, or upgrading an existing system, analyze the current dialing plans. If necessary, modify them across the network to ensure a uniform dialing plan.
If any changes to the dialing plan are made on a switch, the network databases of the sites in the messaging network must reflect these changes. If changes are made locally, ensure that all remote sites are notified. For more information, refer to the Network Planning Guide.
