The Windows Dial-Up Networking software enables you to establish a connection between the server and the remote personal computer over the publish switch telephone network (PSTN). This is not required for personal computers that are on the same LAN as the server.
If the My Computer folder does not contain the Dial-Up
Networking folder, the Dial-Up Networking software has not been installed.
Refer to your Windows documentation for an installation procedure.
Log on to the remote personal computer and start
the Make New Connection wizard.
The Network Connection Welcome appears.
Click Next.
Define the Network Connection Type as Dial-up to private network, then click Next.
Enter the server telephone number, then click Next.
Specify the connection availability (for all users or only for the CallPilot administrator), then click Next.
When prompted to allow Internet Connection Sharing, click Next.
Type the name you want to use for the connection,
then click Finish.
The confirmation message appears.
Click OK.
The dial-up connection icon for the CallPilot server appears in the
Network and Dial-up Connections window.
Log on to the remote personal computer and start Network and Dial-Up Connections.
Double-click the CallPilot server icon.
Note: If the icon is unavailable, you have not created a server connection
profile.
If prompted for a user ID and password, enter the use ID and password to log on to the customer’s network.
Wait until the connection is established.
Right-click the icon on the toolbar.
A menu appears.
Click Status.
Click the Details tab.
Right-click the icon on the toolbar.
A menu appears.
Click Status.
Click Properties.
Enter the telephone number of the server if it is not already present or if it is incorrect. Make any other required changes.
Click Configure.
Click OK.
Click the Server Settings tab.
For Dial-Up Server, select PPP.
For the network protocols, select only TCP/IP and NETBEUI.
Click the TCP/IP settings tab.
Select Specify an IP address, and enter the server IP address.
Select Use default gateway on remote network.
The remaining fields are optional. Fill them in as required for the customer’s network.
Click OK.
When you end a dial-up connection to a CallPilot server, ensure that the server will be able to accept subsequent calls.
Right-click the icon on the toolbar.
A menu appears.
Click Disconnect.
A confirmation box appears.
Enable Host Accepts Another Call and then click Yes.
