CallPilot supports Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. Encryption is optional, but recommended if the User ID and Password authentication method will be used.
Use encryption to
encrypt the authentication process
prevent hackers from gaining access to the message contents
Messaging > Message Delivery Configuration
In the SMTP/VPIM
section, click Security Modes for SMTP
Sessions.
The Security Modes for SMTP Sessions page appears.
In the Encryption Options section, specify the required options:
Enable SSL
for Incoming SMTP Sessions: Choose this option if you want to establish
secure connections with incoming connecting SMTP hosts.
When enabled, the CallPilot SMTP server listens on port 465 for
encrypted connection requests.
This option is cleared by default.
Connect to
server with SSL for Outgoing SMTP Sessions: Choose this option
if you want to encrypt outgoing VPIM Networking message transmission sessions.
When enabled, the CallPilot SMTP server attempts to initiate secure
connections with the SSL port on remote SMTP hosts.
This option is cleared by default.
If
the Enable SSL for incoming SMTP Sessions
check box is cleared, this option is not available.
Click Save.
