A measure of DSP processing power. An MPU supports a session or connection of different media types (for example, voice, fax, and automated speech recognition). The number of MPUs required on the CallPilot server is based on the types of channels used by CallPilot:
A voice channel requires one MPU.
A fax channel requires two MPUs.
A speech recognition channel requires four MPUs.
Example
The CallPilot server is configured to have 30 channels (consisting of 15 voice, 10 fax, and 5 automated speech recognition channels).
The total number of MPUs required is
15 (for voice) + 20 (for fax) + 20 (for automated speech recognition) = 55
A basic MPB16-4 board (that is, with no MPC-8 cards installed) provides 16 MPUs. Each installed MPC-8 card adds 8 MPUs. A fully loaded MPB16-4 board (that is, with 4 MPC-8 cards installed) provides 48 MPUs.
An MPB96 board provides 96 MPUs.
The
maximum available capacity is determined by the keycode. That is, if the
keycode allows 32 MPUs, this is the maximum capacity allowed regardless
of the physical hardware installed.
