Each
site in the messaging network database must have a prime switch location
configured for it, even if Network Message Service is not being used at
the site.The switch that is directly connected to the messaging server (for example, the CallPilot server).
When the prime switch is connected to up to 59 other Meridian 1 switches that are located at the same site, this is referred to as a Network Message Service network.
