CardPro Version 6.0

The PCMCIA Card Programmer tool v6.0 is required to program the self-extracting archives included in the Option 11C section of this website. Note that the manual process of programming PCMCIA cards from a DOS shell or using Windows Explorer also functions correctly, except on Windows 2000.

CardPro Version 6.0 is now compatible with Windows 2000.

Card Pro Tool Installation Instructions:

Download the .zip archive into a temporary directory. Unzip the file. Activate the archive. Once all the files have expanded, double-click on Setup, and follow the instructions. Note:  You must remove any previous versions of the programmer before updating to this newer version.  The PCMCIA Card Programmer is compatible with Windows 95, 98, NT and 2000.

Using the Tool for Programming Software:

The programmer will format the PCMCIA card and copy the software to the card.

Download the software executable to a folder on your PC.  Do not save the software executable to the root of a drive, as CardPro will not be able to program it from there.

Open the PCMCIA Card Programmer.

With Step 1, Select the software archive from the applicable directory,  then select the PCMCIA drive letter.

In Step 2, click on Program PCMCIA card.

You can set the allowable size of flash card that CardPro will format, by clicking on Options and filling in the Minimum and Maximum size restrictions.

Win95/98/NT Manual Process:

NOTE: Do NOT use this manual process on Windows 2000, as it will cause your card to be incompatible with your Meridian 1 system.

First format the PCMCIA card (from DOS shell, type format g: (where g: can be any drive letter); or from Windows Explorer: right click on drive and select format.
Next create a new folder on your P.C. desktop.  Download the software required (executable file) to this folder.  Double click on the file to expand the executable into separate folders and files.  Copy these files to your PCMCIA drive, using either DOS shell or Windows Explorer.

Windows 2000 Manual Process:

DO NOT FORMAT PCMCIA CARD.  If your card is not blank, erase files but do not format it.  Formatting with Win2000 will cause the PCMCIA Card to be incompatible with your Meridian 1 Option 11C/11C Mini system.
Next create a new folder on your P.C. desktop.  Download the software required (executable file) to this folder.  Double click on the file to expand the executable into separate folders and files.  Copy these files to your PCMCIA drive, using either DOS shell or Windows Explorer.

When properly programmed, the software on the PCMCIA card will have the following directory and file structure:
bootrom/
dflt_db/
p/
u/
dramos
dramos.sym
dramoscc.sym
A readme.txt file may also be present.

You are now ready to put the programmed card into slot A of the System Controller and proceed with the software installation procedure. Please make sure you have your keycode sheet available prior to installing the software.
