How to partition a Nortel Meridian or Succession Hard Disk


  This method should only be used in situations where there is system corruption 
or suspected disk errors. The example shown was carried out on a NT5D61AB IODU/C CP4.
  The system will need to be rebooted with the relevent Install disk inserted. After 
the sites keycodes have been validated, press "t" for the Tools Menu.
  I've done an example below.

<CR> -> <y> - Yes, the keycode matches. Go on to Install Menu.
        <n> - No, the keycode does not match. Try another keycode diskette.

        The Software Installation Tool will install or upgrade Meridian-1
        System Software, Database and the PE-ROM (both CP and IOP ROM).
        You will be prompted throughout  the installation and given the
        opportunity to quit at any time.

<CR> -> <a> - To install Software, CP-BOOTROM, IOP-ROM.
        <b> - To install Software, Database, CP-BOOTROM, IOP-ROM.
        <c> - To install Software only.
        <d> - To install Database only.
        <e> - To install CP-BOOTROM only.
        <f> - To install IOP-ROM only.
        <g> - To reinstall CP-Software.
        <o> - To copy System Software from the other Core.
        <t> - To go to the Tools menu.
        <k> - To install Keycode only.
               For Feature Expansion, use OVL143.
        <p> - To install 3900 set Languages.
        <q> - Quit.

        can only be performed  by Nortel's Manufacturing
        personnel.

        Enter password: letron  (Which is "nortel" in lower case!)

        You selected to Partition the Hard disk drive.  This will
        ERASE ALL files and directories on the hard disk of Core 0.

        You can choose  to go on and  Partition your hard disk or choose
        to Quit now and leave the hard disk unchanged.

        Note: HARD DISK WILL BE EMPTY AFTER YOU PARTITION IT.


        Please enter:
<CR> -> <q> - Quit from this menu and leave the hard disk unchanged.
        <a> - Partition the hard disk into appropriate devices.

  The hard disk is now "blank" and will have to be reloaded with new software.
