Clearing an alarm from the Alarm Monitor

When you complete your investigation of an alarm and you no longer want to view the alarm in the Alarm Monitor, you can remove it from the Alarm Monitor by clearing the alarm.

Note/Tip  Cleared alarms are not removed from the event log or Event Browser.

Example

Event 40485 generates an alarm in the Alarm Monitor. You investigate the alarm and decide on the appropriate action, but the problem will not be fully resolved until tomorrow. You may want to remove the alarm to acknowledge that the problem has been addressed. If event 40485 reoccurs, it will generate a new alarm in the Alarm Monitor.

Note/Tip  The system clears alarms automatically when the status of the event changes.
